BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Are you interested in relaxed volunteer work at a unique large-scale event?
The association Turun Suurtorin keskiaika is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the setup, takedown, and event-related tasks at the Old Great Square’s Christmas!
The event offers a variety of interesting volunteer tasks. Volunteer roles are available in customer service, staff catering, cleaning team, setup and takedown teams, and other essential event-related tasks. A detailed list of volunteer teams and tasks can be found at the end of the article for more information.
The event staff will provide training for all volunteer tasks, so no prior experience is required. We only expect applicants to have a positive and energetic attitude and good teamwork skills.

LIST OF VOLUNTEER TASKS
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer service at the event will take place at the info point located in the Old Great Square, also known as the “info hut.” The main tasks of customer service are guiding visitors with event-related questions and selling the association’s support products.
CLEANING
The cleaning team ensures the general cleanliness of the event area. This includes collecting trash from the event grounds, emptying event trash bins, and maintaining the cleanliness of the restrooms.
STAFF CANTEEN
Volunteers in the staff canteen will manage the staff break area. Tasks may include setting up food, brewing coffee, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the area.
RUNNER
Runners are event all-rounders who relieve other volunteers during their breaks and fill in for teams that are short-staffed. Runners will be sent to handle any random or unexpected tasks that arise during the event, whether related to the set design, props, or any other area.
SETUP AND DISMANTLE
During the setup before the event, volunteers will help move event props into their correct places, and tidy up the event area. After the event, during dismantling, props will be returned to their places, and the area will be cleaned once again.
